Quick Verdict
The most watch per dollar in this database. World time across 31 zones, 100 m of water resistance and a decade of battery, in a resin case that costs forty dollars.

Design
A 45 x 42.1 mm resin case with a stepped, protected bezel and WORLD TIME and ILLUMINATOR moulded into it. The segmented LCD with its world map is the reason the watch has a following that has nothing to do with its price.
Movement
A Casio digital module specified at ±30 seconds a month, running from a CR2025 that Casio rates for roughly ten years. It carries world time across 31 zones and 48 cities, a Multi Time display for four of them at once, a countdown timer and a 1/100 second stopwatch reading to 24 hours.
Build Quality
Resin case, resin glass, resin strap, and a screwless construction that is not meant to be opened by the owner. At 39 g it is lighter than the A158WA despite being far larger.
Dial
The busiest display Casio sells at this price: a 24-hour analogue-style ring at top left, the world map at top right, day and city in the middle band and the time across the bottom, with 5 ALARMS, WR100M and 10 YEAR BATTERY printed around it.
Bracelet & Strap
A plain resin strap on a case with integrated lugs. Casio does not publish a lug width for this reference, and the strap is not designed to be swapped for a standard one.
Comfort & Wearability
39 g keeps it wearable, but 45 mm long and 12.5 mm thick is a large footprint. It sits better on a wrist that can carry the width than the dimensions alone suggest.
Accuracy
±30 seconds per month, and a full auto-calendar that runs to 2099 without intervention.
What we like
What we like
- 100 m water resistance, which the F-91W and A158WA do not have at any depth
- 31 time zones and 48 cities, plus four simultaneous Multi Time displays
- Ten years on a CR2025 — twice the interval of most quartz watches
- Five alarms, a countdown timer and a full auto-calendar to 2099
What we don't like
- 45 x 42.1 mm and 12.5 mm thick — a genuinely large watch on a small wrist
- Resin glass over a busy display collects scratches in the worst place
- The world map is decorative; it does not tell you which zone you are in
Who Should Buy It?
Travellers who want a second time zone without a GMT hand, anyone who needs a watch they can swim in for under fifty dollars, and anyone who likes the look of a display that shows everything at once.
Who Should Skip It?
Skip it if your wrist is under about 16 cm, or if you want the flat, invisible profile the F-91W has.
Best Alternatives

Final Verdict
Buy the F-91W because it weighs nothing. Buy the AE-1200WH because it does everything. At forty dollars, the second argument is the easier one to make.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between the Casio AE-1200WH and the AE-1200WHD?
They are separate references. The AE-1200WH-1AV has a black resin case and resin strap; the AE-1200WHD-1AV is the silver version on a stainless steel bracelet. Same module, different watch.
Can you swim with the Casio AE-1200WH?
Casio rates it to 100 m, so swimming and snorkelling are within specification. It is not a dive watch and Casio does not certify it to ISO 6425.
