Diseño
A conventional but well-executed diver, with a broad ceramic bezel and a wave-textured dial on most references. It is considerably more assertive than the PRX and is clearly designed to be recognised as a dive watch.
Movimiento
The same Powermatic 80 as the PRX: an ETA C07.111 base running at 21,600 vph for an 80-hour reserve. Tissot does not publish a daily rate for the standard version.
Calidad de construcción
Screw-down crown, screwed caseback, 300 m rating and a ceramic bezel insert that will not fade or scratch the way aluminium does. This is the best-built watch in the database on specification.
Esfera
Applied indices with heavy luminous fill, a date at three and anti-reflective treatment on the sapphire. The wave pattern is subtle in most lighting and pronounced in direct sun.
Brazalete y correa
Depending on reference, a tapering steel bracelet with a diver's extension or a rubber strap. The 22 mm lug width means aftermarket options are plentiful, unlike the integrated PRX.
Comodidad y ergonomía
The limiting figure is 50 mm lug-to-lug, the longest here. Combined with 13 mm of height and 190 g of mass, this is a watch that needs a wrist of about 7 inches to sit correctly.
Precisión
As with the PRX, Tissot publishes no rate specification for the standard Powermatic 80. The 80-hour reserve is the movement's defining practical advantage.
