Citizen Promaster Diver BN0150 Review: Is It Worth It?

A conventional 44 mm diver with a broad rotating bezel and high-contrast dial. Citizen prioritises legibility over subtlety, and the yellow and orange references are aimed squarely at actual underwater use rather than at a desk.

The Eco-Drive E168 converts any light source into stored energy, running roughly six months in darkness once fully charged. Citizen publishes ±15 seconds per month — roughly thirty times tighter than the mechanical alternatives at this price.

Screw-down crown, screwed caseback and ISO 6425 certification, which covers pressure, thermal shock, magnetic and shock resistance rather than a depth number alone. The crystal is mineral, which is the main concession.

Large applied markers with heavy luminous fill and a date at three. Contrast is deliberately extreme; this is a dial designed to be read at depth rather than admired across a table.

The polyurethane strap is durable, easy to rinse and light, which makes sense for the intended use. It is also the component that makes the watch look like equipment. A 20 mm lug width means alternatives are easy to find.

At 122 g it is significantly lighter than a steel-braceleted diver, but 44 mm with a 48 mm lug-to-lug still requires a wrist of about 6.75 inches or more to sit properly.

Citizen's specification of ±15 seconds per month puts this in a different category from anything mechanical here. There is no winding, no battery change and no service interval in the conventional sense.
