Policy

Editorial Policy

The rules we hold ourselves to, written down so you can hold us to them as well.

Actualizado 20 de agosto de 2026

Independence

No brand, retailer or affiliate partner has any influence over what we publish or what we score.

We do not accept payment for reviews, placements, rankings or links. We do not send copy to brands for approval. We do not remove criticism at a brand's request.

Accuracy

We publish only specifications we can attribute to a source, and every watch record lists those sources.

Where a manufacturer does not publish a figure — accuracy specifications are the most common gap — we print that it is not published rather than estimating it. An empty field is more useful than a plausible guess.

We never invent prices, dimensions, calibers, availability or third-party ratings.

Claims about experience

We do not write that we tested, wore, measured or timed a watch unless we did.

Desk analysis is labelled as desk analysis. This is the single rule most likely to be quietly broken in this industry, and it is the one we care about most.

Commercial relationships

Selection Time earns affiliate commission on some outbound links. Editorial and commercial systems are separate by design: articles contain no URLs, and links are assembled at render time from a central configuration.

Commission rates play no part in which watches we cover, how we score them, or where they place in a ranking.

Use of AI tools

We use software to structure data, generate specification tables and check consistency across pages. Editorial judgement, scoring and conclusions are made by people, and every page is reviewed before publication.

We do not publish machine-translated content. The Spanish version of this site translates the interface; editorial content stays in English until it has been translated by a person.
