Two references define the modern line for most buyers. The GA-2100 brought the case height down to 11.8 mm, making a G-Shock wearable under a cuff for the first time, and its octagonal bezel gave the brand a design that reached beyond its traditional audience. The GW-M5610U keeps the original 1983 square shape and adds Tough Solar charging with Multi Band 6 radio sync, producing a watch that requires no battery, no winding and no time setting.
