The Tissot PRX is the better watch and the Citizen Tsuyosa is the better value. The PRX buys you a Swiss movement with an 80-hour reserve, sharper finishing and a slimmer case for roughly $425 more. If the look is what you want, the Tsuyosa delivers it for $300.

These two are cross-shopped constantly, and for good reason: both are 40 mm integrated-bracelet automatics with sunburst dials and sapphire crystals. The difference is entirely in what sits behind the dial and how the metal is finished.

Elige el Citizen Tsuyosa NJ0150

Choose the Citizen Tsuyosa if the design is what you are buying, if $300 is the ceiling, or if you want a bolder dial colour than Tissot offers.

On specification the PRX wins almost every category that can be measured: an 80-hour reserve against 40, a thinner case, better finishing and a movement that hand-winds. What it does not win is value. The Tsuyosa costs less than half and delivers the same silhouette, the same sapphire crystal and a dial that is arguably more interesting. If you are buying a watch to wear rather than to appreciate, the Citizen is very difficult to argue against. If you want the object to feel considered every time you look at it, the Tissot is worth the difference.

Preguntas frecuentes

Is the Citizen Tsuyosa a copy of the Tissot PRX?

Neither is original. Both draw on the 1970s integrated-bracelet sports watch template established by Gérald Genta's designs for other brands. Tissot's PRX is a direct revival of its own 1978 model.

Which has better resale value?

The Tissot PRX has considerably stronger secondary demand, which is worth factoring in if you expect to sell or trade the watch later.
